Mindfulness Research LLC, doing business as Stillful ("Stillful," "we," "us," or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Stillful mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").
Stillful is offered to users in the United States, the European Economic Area ("EEA"), the United Kingdom ("UK"), Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Certain privacy rights, choices, and defaults vary based on your location and applicable law. Region-specific provisions are set out in the sections below. If you are located in a jurisdiction not listed above, please contact us before using the App.
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, provide additional notice through the App or other means.
We collect information when you create an account, sign in, interact with the App, or otherwise communicate with us. This information may include:
When you use the App, we automatically collect information about your usage and device, including:

The App collects information about your meditation preferences, usage, and interactions solely to provide and personalize app functionality. Some users may also choose to share information about how they are feeling when providing feedback or interacting with the App. We do not infer health-related characteristics from this information and process it only for general wellness purposes and consistent with the context in which it was provided. This information is not used to diagnose, treat, or monitor medical conditions. This information is not considered protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA.

Subject to your consent choices and applicable law, we use the information we collect to:
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration, however, some data sharing may be considered a 'sale' or 'sharing' under applicable state laws, as described below.
We may disclose information about you:
We may also share aggregated or anonymized information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Universal Opt-Out Signals: Where required by applicable law, we recognize Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar universal opt-out signals as valid requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising purposes to the extent such signals are technically available to us in a mobile app environment. Because the App is a native mobile application, such signals may be limited to the specific device or context in which they are received.
We work with third-party advertising and analytics services to help us understand how the App is used and to display advertisements.
These services may collect information such as advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location, device and operating system information, ad interaction data, and app usage metrics. Video advertisements may also collect playback and interaction events, such as when a video ad is loaded, viewed, completed, or skipped.
Regional defaults for analytics and advertising may vary based on applicable law.
You can manage your privacy preferences within the App, including:
You may update your account information through the App or by contacting us.
You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting us. When you delete your account, your authentication data and synchronized meditation progress will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, subject to legal and operational requirements.
You may also control certain data collection through your device settings, such as limiting ad tracking or disabling notifications.
With your consent, we may send push notifications about meditation reminders, new content, or app updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the App, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within reasonable timeframes, subject to legal requirements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and purpose of processing.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information consistent with industry-standard practices appropriate to the nature of the data. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
Stillful is based in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect "sensitive personal information" as defined by applicable state privacy laws, such as precise geolocation data, government-issued identification numbers, financial account credentials, or information used to diagnose or treat medical conditions. Meditation preferences, usage patterns, and wellness feedback are processed only for general wellness and App functionality purposes.
This section describes privacy rights available to residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah.
Sale and Sharing of Personal Information: Under California and other state privacy laws, allowing advertising partners to collect information through the App (such as through advertising identifiers or similar technologies) may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, even though we do not receive monetary payment for this data. You may opt out of this sale or sharing for targeted advertising purposes through the App's privacy settings or as otherwise described in this section.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the CPRA, including the right to:
